  1. WOAH, oh man. I did NOT expect it to be that bad – I thought Midori would run off but almost to her death?! Thank goodness Grey was paying attention, and reacted in time.

    The expressions of shock on both their faces are so heartbreaking ;-;

    Grey looks a bit pissed at the end there though….I wonder what he’s thinking. I’m not sure if Midori actually yelled out Weiss’s name or not – which fits the seeming psychosis, honestly, being unsure what is said and what isn’t – but if Midori just *bolted* like that without saying *anything*….God.

    Also I like the background people, they have a lot of diversity in appearance and reactions – some are gasping, a lot seem concerned. The attention isn’t good for them but idk, I guess i like that people aren’t completely checked out…even if nobody is doing anything, either. Bystander effect in full swing. something something SOCIETY.

    Gaaaah ok final note, the composition is so good. The movement is so overwhelming and chaotic, the sudden appearance of the headlights of the train, the *whiplash* when Midori is grabbed – and the varying fonts overtaking the panels – like, Weiss shouts “Midori!” and it’s black text, then it shifts to Grey shouting it, and the text becomes white, then the final shout is black-and-white. It’s a tiny detail but it massively changes how things escalate, y’know? And how reality blurs, without using traditional text boxes. I notice more and more details the more I look. (“the doors are now closing”….is somehow so terrifying….)

  2. Phew, that was a close call! This page has a great sense of movement and danger.

Welcome to Centralia!

The first chapter of Centralia is here!! Aw yeah! Huge thanks to my partner Matt for working with me to figure out this website thingy. I can draw and make graphics but I kind of go cross-eyed at HTML and CSS. This comic has been in the works for about 7 years now, through all sorts of vastly different iterations and ideas. I hope you guys will enjoy the culmination of countless hours of head-banging paper crumpling and pencil-snapping lovingly-crafted story! :u And thank you to those who’ve support me through the process and via my Patreon!
