This reminds me of that time I got to go for a ride in a police car …you focus on the alarm and ignore the camera because “There’s no way that someone is actually watching it now”
It’s funny, I’ve heard it’s common for alarms to not actually be set. That’s certainly the case at the metro stations in my city, where you can just leave thru the emergency exit gate without consequence :v
Similarly a lot of security cams aren’t plugged in, turns out a lot of surveillance is just appearances (except when they’re not and you get put in a cop car for— tripping an alarm while skipping detention? Slow police day???)
I think generally the idea of security cameras isn’t for someone watching the feed to catch you in the act, it’s to assist investigators afterwards–it’s much easier to get a conviction with a tape of the feed.
Sure, be a cat burglar, just so it’s not one of my cats, Maho, or Tabby. (If it’s Maho you’ll be stuck with about $70/month for the hypoallergenic food! Plus half a prednisolone tablet every other day. I’ve got that worked out; you’ll probably lose about 1/2 an ounce of blood every other day for the first month or so – he’s a big strong cat.)
(Maho can be written with kanji which mean ‘apprentice demon’ – a good name for a big strong tom cat – even thought he’s ‘human equivalent’ of 67 years old.)
Also, though he was essentially feral for two years, he is the friendliest, most affectionate cat I have had in some 40+ years.
Yikes! Thanks for the heads up, I’ll look into it and see if there’s anything wrong with the RSS widget. There will be a new page this week, so hopefully you’ll get notified of it, and if not, I’ll keep looking for a solution.

Well, Grey did get TOMO straightened out, so I’d say he has a better than average chance of hacking that pad. 🙂

Something might be wrong with the RSS feed, I haven’t gotten any new pages showing up there since December.

Looks like it’s not a problem with the feed, the problem is an expired HTTPS certificate. I set my reader to use plain HTTP and it’s working now.
It’s weird though. Certificates usually last 2 years, yours appears to be 90 days.
Michelle
That IS weird… but certainly narrows it down. I’ll check into it, thanks Nissa!
